We have had several dates here at Matthews and haven’t had a bad experience at all.
The atmosphere!
Matthew’s 1600 is nestled in the small town of Catonsville on Fredrick Rd. If you drive to fast you could miss it. If you do you’ll be missing a hidden gem.
The atmosphere is quaint subtle relaxed and a little romantic. 
On today’s menu
My wife ordered the petite Filet steak with crab cake sautéed spinach with a tarter and Béarnaise sauce and their signature mashed potatoes.
I ordered the St.Matthews chicken breast with lump crabmeat sautéed mushrooms in a brandy cream sauce with grilled vegetables and signature mashed potatoes .
And two soft drinks
We truly enjoyed our meals! The service was great as well, they were very attentive. The restaurant is nice affordable and serves great food.
